A simple man’s thoughts on finding God through Jesus Christ, life in general, and raising a family.
I am a Christian, husband, and father to four wonderful children. My wife and I have 3 boys (ages 12, 7, and 4) and 1 daughter (age 9). Our daughter also has Down Syndrome.
I grew up in Vermont, was married and moved just down the road. Then my wife and I decided to move to Montana. Now we have been back in New England for about 10 years, and 3 years ago moved from Vermont to New Hampshire to be close to church, work, and to have more land for our growing family.
This blog is to share some of our journey, to share hope for dark times, to share one simple man’s thoughts about some of life’s most puzzling questions, and to point to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Everyone who knows me, knows I love books. Every time we have moved I have complained about my book collection, but I find it hard to whittle it down. Here are a few recommendations of some of my favorites:
- Ann Voskamp – author of “A Thousand Gifts” and “The Broken Way”.
- Brennan Manning – author of many books, a couple of my favorites include “The Ragamuffin Gospel” and “The Furious Longing of God” you can find his extensive work here: Brennan’s Books
- Stepping Up – Both the book by Dennis Rainey, and the event are offered by Family Life. Our church just finished hosting the one day event, and are looking forward to more to come.
- For His Glory – A very powerful new blog written by a young lady in my home church. Her testimony will bring tears to your eyes, definitely I would recommend following as she writes about her journey with our Savior.
More recommendations to come…
